We are pleased to announce our 2012 Artist in Residence series focusing on screen arts. This series will focus on film appreciation and provide workshops on movie writing, shooting and editing skills.
Sharad Kant Patel will be among the screen artists providing instruction and showcasing their work. Based in Ann Arbor, Sharad is currently in post-production on his first feature length film “Christian Roane,” which he wrote, directed and edited. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Radio/Television/Film, he began a career of applying his skills to commercial and promotional production while continuing his independent filmmaking as a means of creative personal expression. Sharad, along with other screen artists and film experts, will present hands-on workshops and film appreciation screenings throughout 2012. The Artist in Residence program is a joint venture of the Chelsea District Library, Chelsea Center for the Arts and the River Gallery and is made possible with a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
